:: Brother Ali in Montreal ::

I know its 2am and I should be passed out, but I just got back from the Brother Ali show that went down tonight at Foufounes Electriques.
I have been a fan of Brother Ali for the past few years but had never had the opportunity to see him live. I was very impressed at how good he was live, with amazing stage presence and great sound. I am always a little weary of going to hip hop shows just because many of the artists often sound completely different live vs. on their albums, but Brother Ali truly is the real deal.
On stage he really gives off a positivity and "Joie de Vivre" that couldn't stop me from thinking that I was in a gospel church filled with people praising his songs.
He has a new album entitled "US" that came out a few monts ago that is worth a listen, and if he is in your town, GO to the show, its worth it.

:: YAR Thomas Campbell Solo Show ::

Amazing artist Thomas Campbell is having a solo show at the Gregory Lind Gallery in San Francisco.
" "YAR” is a positive affirmational slogan that hails from sailing terminology and means “all is ready to go.” ", this show will definitively not disappoint as the artist always lives up to his colorful, original, and intricate style.
Below are a few pics of the show from the gallery website.

God Is Not Great.

This is not just a statement, but also a book written by the very influential Christopher Hitchens. Christopher Hitchens is well known for his controversial and well-educated talks and discussions against religious figures. He not only called Mother Teresa a fanatic fraud, but also called Jerry Falwell a stupid, anti-semetic fraud (which he truely is). He is one of the many people i look up to, not only for speaking his own mind, but for his intelligent anti-theist point of view (not only atheist, but against religion itself). You can youtube his name and find numerous debates, discussions that will surely change your perspective on being human and about religion. After reading this book, my outlook on religion has changed forever. No one will ever be able to change the ideas that Hitchens has been able to insert in my mind. I believe that we are now at a crossroad as a human species, where religion needs to be abolished, or suppressed. The power of religion, especially in the middle east, is a serious issue. I believe that everyone, should read this book and explore the ideas that Hitchens has. Knowing how religion poisons everything, can benefit us all.
