:: TED - Woody Norris ::

Saw this on TED talks, and thought it was pretty ingenious, speakers that can focus sound. This is a really cool technology that I could see getting alot of usage in the near future, I just hope it isn't abused cause I could see it being very annoying if these emitters were everywhere.  I didn`t find Woody Norris to be as good of a speaker as some I`ve seen on TED but he is a brilliant man nonetheless.

:: Tree Trunk Garden House ::

I came across this on a few websites but still thought it was cool to post.
Designed by Piet Hein Eek for his friend, Dutch musician Hans Liberg, this refuge was made so that the musician could have a place to get away and practice in peace. It is beautifully designed to mesh in with the natural habitat surrounding it.  Don't let the wood exterior fool you, this cabin is equipped with a recording studio and is on wheels making it portable if your spot gets too crowded.
Having grown up in small town Canada, I'm surprised I haven't seen more of these owned by hunters...
Truly a Wik'd design
I beleive the original pictures are from the Thomas Mayer Archive.

:: Machotaildrop ::

Machotaildrop is a new Canadian production nearing its debut  in the next few weeks. Its about a kid who dreams of becoming a pro skateboarder, and ends up getting sponsored by the messed up Corporation named Machotaildrop. You can check out the trailer below, it seems like a great visual piece and also features Canadian pro-skateboarder Rick McCrank.
Think Alice in Wonderland as a young skateboarder directed by Wes Anderson and Spike Jones' illegitimate love child (Actually its directed by Corey Adams and Alex Craig...)

Free Album Download of The Knux. The Fuck You EP

The Knux are, as they say, a mars born "Garage-Hop" duo , who have come to this primitive world in search of breakbeats and the occasional Dime Diesal! They are great Mcs who managed to pull off, what Gym Class Hero's failed to do, with a kind of pop punk feel but remained essentially Hiphop. They are offering a free Album download on RCRD LCL. :: New Museum of Contemporary Art ::

While in New-York during the holidays, I managed to make a stop at the New Museum of Contemporary Art in the Lower east side. With its reasonable rates, and waits, this Museum is a great stop. Just the design of the building was enough for me to want to go. The new building was designed by Tokyo-based architects Kazuyo Sejima and Ryue Nishizawa/SANAA with Gensler, New York, serving as Executive Architect, and was completed in December of 2007.
On exhibition, were the works of Urs Fischer, incorporating a bunch of hallucinogenic pieces that must be seen in person to be truly appreciated.
The images below were taken from the New Museum's website and give you an idea of what to expect.

:: The New Generation of TVs ::

LEDs are taking over the world of technology. Used for the longest time as simply as simple indicator lights, advancements have brought these little diodes into the big leagues. A current major user for LED technology is television. These ultra slim TVs have been popping out of the woodwork left right and center.

Samsung is at the forefront of LED technology with the announcement of their new 9000 series which is as thin as a pencil. It has beautiful lines, and a nice brushed aluminum finish which not only makes this TV a technological marvel, but also a designers wet dream. The stand harbors the guts of the beast, and also doubles as a wall mount.
It will be equipped with a touchscreen remote that shows content from other video sources, a sort of in your hand picture in picture.
No news on price but it should be dropping in late 2010.
Keep an eye out!

Cracker Your Wardrobe Magazine

If you're ever curious to know about fashion trends in South Korea, see pictures of hipster Koreans and and hot Asian girls, this magazine is for you. If you can read Hangul that is. It's a kind of Vice influenced magazine that travels the world and takes pictures of pretty people in Paris, Amsterdam, Tokyo and even Montreal. I was blown away to see pictures of a Montreal hottie that i had a crush on, in a Korean magazine in Seoul getting my morning coffee at Tom and Toms (a Korean Starbucks). It's always a good read and always fun to see picutres of Montreal and beautiful people. Check it out here. There's plenty to check out on their site.
